Yes, I was one of the fortunate ones to read the book prior to publishing. From an outsiders point of view I thought the book was incredibly put together and well organized, I really felt like I was there on the streets with Rocker when all was going on. One the other side of the fence, I'd like to say that throughout the entire time Rocker was on the streets we had little contact with each other, I really enjoyed seeing him when we bumped into each other. As an adult and after
reading his book I can fully understand his love for what he was living. I can
honestly say I have a greater appreciation for the guys that he hung with and want to thank you all that I get to make up for that lost time with him. I now see that
it was a caring family not a bunch of idiots running around with guns. (No offense, this being one reason I think the book should be read by all races, ages, religions and then some). It really changes your outlook on things. Well done!! By the way, hi to Player if anyone sees him.

although i grew up in new york, i lived on kildare ave between wrightwood and altgeld in my grandparents home while i worked in the loop. this was between the years 1980- 1984. your site is a trip down memory lane..i have since moved out of
state..but remember the corner of fullerton and kildare..i believe there was a 7-11 and a laundramat on the corner..i jogged every day along pulaski-diversey to cicero and back.since i was not from the area, i was oblivious to the gang influence in
the 'hood. there was undercover cop who lived across the street from me and he
tipped me off to some of the happenings. i used to go to our lady of mt carmel [i think that was the name] on ridgeway..i met a bunch of great guys at the ymca on
irving..spent alot of time at obriens saloon, roma's and the golden nugget on
diversey/pulaski. the neighborhood was full of great old polish and german families..i could sense it changing in the early '80s prior to moving out due to a
change in jobs...this site is a fantastic way to recall what the area once was..well

I received complaints about the old chatroom and was told to remove it. I am looking for another one to replace it with. That chatroom would have worked if people did not use AOL to access the chatroom. This is what tech support said about AOL:

"What if they log into AOL, then open IE in a new window?"

Try to see if it will work without the AOL user interface.
Click on Start, Programs and choose IE after your logged on.

Or try some other browser not compiled to AOL, such as Netscape.

Let me also add, AOL is a proxy service that caters to there own users.
AOL is not a Internet service company, but a member directory, that only supports their own users as a whole, there is nothing we can tweak on our end and it may have to do with AOL's proxy configuration or there built in browser. Your AOL user will have to subscribe to a normal ISP or take extra steps by installing additional browsers on their computer to use the Internet as it was designed for.

Your users may also have Java script disabled, have them check their Internet Options to make sure Java scripting is enabled.

Regarding the article posted July 16th. It is an interesting  story but it is not  true. The club that came into Lennie's that day was the Insane Deuces not the  Spanish Lords. And yes we did lose a sweater that day. The two LGL's that were beaten were Hillbilly & Lil Bates. The reason they were beaten and we lost a sweater is because they were out numbered five to one. This incident happened in 1974 not  25 years ago.I know this to be true because I am a retired LGL (started in 1969)and my wife, who is Hillbilly's sister, was there when they put 8 stitches in his head.

The cover of the book will also be started to be developed in two weeks. The galley for the book should be ready for viewing by author sometime in August. After galley process is over, and author signs off, book will hit printing department.

Yeah, I remember the Tiffin, Armitage, and logan theatres. man,

What's up? let me give you a little background about me.
I moved into Belden and Drake back in 1972 and graduated Mozart in 1979. Nelson, Spaghetti, and a couple of the older Maniac
Destroyers tried to recruit me in 1978 but I turned them down. We had a group of guys that started on Belden going by The Name "United Brothers". We were more of a party group but we did a little gangbanging too. Later after the older Destroyers turn Ig's we got permission and blessing to start up the Maniac
Destroyers. We were always considered undercover Gangsters even though we were Destroyers. I'll give you gaylords some prop back in those days, you were some big ass whiteboys. Those were the good old days, it was like West side story. I remember one time in the early 80's Fourth of July when all folks (gangsters ,ylo
cobras, ylo d's, and Maniac Destroyers) went marching up Ridgeway to fullerton and the lights were all out on Ridgeway from fullerton to altgeld and all of a sudden fireworks lit up rigdeway and you gaylords and kings came out deep. I was at the front lines and I had a big yellow flag that had a giant pitchfork on it. I turned around and some of the folks were running like b***hes. Gaylords chased my ass all the way to
monticello and Belden where we had some re- inforcements. we were
going at it back and forth until Grand/Central and Shakespeare came and chased everyone away. Man, the good old days. Gangbanging now and day is nothing compared to what it use to be. Now and days, you have a little 12 year old that doesn't know how
to wipe his a#s, shooting an UZI down the block and killing
innocent bystanders. I left the neighborhood about 9 years ago and moved out to the western suburbs. I don't regret the past
because it was history, what i do regret is how everything turned out in the long run, folks fighting folks, people fighting people. It's all about money and power. Where did all the fellowship go.
